WDW Marathon Weekend through Disney Movies!

Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend is FINALLY here! As you are reading this (and if it is before 8:00/8:30 AM) I am probably at ESPN Wide World of Sports or driving to there. Before I get on with today's post be sure to check me out on Twitter and FB for live updates about what I am doing and what is going on!

Anyway I thought today would be so FUN to relieve everyone's training through Disney GIFs. I hope you enjoy this post as much as I did putting it together!

It all started here. I think we all loved Disney so much that a chance to run through it was a no-brainer.

Sign up day finally arrived and many of us chose to run the Dopey Challenge. Family members, husbands, boyfriends, children, neighbors where doing this...

While we are doing this...

Training started and we all worked extremely hard to prepare ourselves for the long haul. Even though at times it was not too pretty.

And then runDisney reveled the medals, merchandise and other things along the way to keep us motivated and we basically looked like this...

Trying to get our outfits and costumes ready was what was most concerning to us. Until the  moment when we finally finished and we all did this...

It was time to start packing. When you realize you don't have a lot of space to bring ALL your running stuff.

Finally the day has come to leave for Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend and
you are totally feeling like this...

You arrive at the expo to do some shopping and packet pick up and you instantly feel like this...

You soon run into facebook friends, blogging friends, twitter friends that you never actually met in person but automatically feel like you know them from all the connections made though out the year...

The night before the race you get a little bit nervous and slightly freak out and until you stop freaking out and say this to yourself...

And then say this to yourself and instantly everything is better...

You go to sleep extra early because you have to get up at the crack of dawn...

When you wake up in the morning you feel like this:

So you fuel up and dream of the amazing food you will have later in the park.

You head to the start line and when it is your time to start something magical happens

And you immediately feel like this...

Because you have trained for this moment for a long time. BUT if you are doing the Dopey or Goofy you will probably go crazy at some point over the 4 or 2  days and do something like this.

And pretty much from lack of sleep you will feel like this...

But as soon as you get your medal, no matter what race your face will most likely do this at the finish...

Because your a CHAMPION for running the Walt Disney World 5k or 10k or Half or Full or Goofy and a Half Challenge or the Dopey Challenge. And NO ONE can take that away from you.

I hope you all have an AMAZING race weekend!

Until next time everyone! Kisses!

Nearly 2 years has lead to this! It's DOPEY time!

Wow. After months of preparation and training has all boiled down to 4 days, 4 race, 6 medals. I am TWO days away from driving up to Orlando and meeting my mom. I will be leaving here at 5:00 AM Wednesday morning and head straight to ESPN Wide World of Sports for the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend Health and Fitness Expo! This is my most favorite thing to do during marathon weekend.

For those of you who don't know my journey to the Dopey Challenge it all started two years ago when I signed up for the "unofficial" Dopey Challenge. This is essentially the Goofy Challenge with the added 5k. Anyway after training and saving money Chris and I got to Disney and I was hit with the flu. I ran the 5k and Half Marathon with 103 fever and the night before the Full Marathon I fainted in the food court of our hotel and my dreams of doing the Goofy died. I cried that whole night. And here we are almost 365 days later and I am coming back with a vengeance.

My training has been AMAZING. I literally couldn't have done with without of Train2Run Tuesday/Thursday/Sunday Groupies. And I can't forget my Fun2Run friends on Wednesday nights! The past couple months we have run through rain, heat and humidity and one night of freezing temps! Ok, ok maybe it was like the 50's but STILL that is freezing for South Florida standards!

I will be arriving bright and early at the expo for some fun Wednesday morning, and will be tweeting all weekend and facebooking so be sure to stay tuned to my pages for updates. We will be staying off site this year. But if you do see me around the park please say hi! I love talking to people!

Last min prep is in full swing. I will be spending most of tonight packing and getting ready. Laundry has been in full swing and our bed room looks like a running bomb went off in it. Chris walked upstairs last night and walked in the room as I sit on the bed sorting stuff and he said laughing "Wow, I can't handle this!" and turned around and walked away! Silly.

So what are you packing? Are you already at Disney? And how much do you LOVE the race shirts?!? I hoping (fingers crossed) that Disney Park Blog will post some merchandise pics today! YAY!

Until next time everyone!

Weekly Wrap-up: 12-30 thru 1-5

This week has flown by! I am three days away from leaving for Disney and I have so much to do. From laundry, grocery shopping, getting Chris and the dogs ready for me being gone. PHEW! I am just getting dizzy thinking about it.

I've been tapering for about 2 weeks now (I know KILL ME). If your not a runner tapering means that you slow down and cut back on your training 2-3 weeks before your race. Every runner has different feelings about tapering. For me it's a love/hate relationship. I hate it because I hate slowing down, but I also love it because it means it's almost race time! AHHH! Now I am just stalking the weather channel…

Here is my weekly round-up!

Monday- Rest

Tuesday- 4 mile speed work 2 min slow/ 2 min fast x8 = 40 mins total

Wednesday- 2 mile easy run

Thursday- 2 mile easy run

Friday- Rest

Saturday- 8 mile run (Ps It was what I like to call a 'Florida Blizzard' because it was in the 50's!)

Sunday- Rest

On a side note… Am I the only person OBSESSED with runDisney New Balance shoes? I am so EXCITED to get a pair! Wooo! I am totally getting the Cinderella ones!

How did your workouts go this week? Are you heading to Disney along with me? If you are I would love to know! And if you see me out there be sure to say Hi!

Until next time everyone! Kisses!

2014 New Years Resolutions

With 2014 already a couple days in, I have seriously been pondering what my New Years Resolution (aka
NYR) should be. This has been a toughie for me. But two nights ago when I met up with my favorite group of runners to start off the new year right with a run (well tapering for me.) I finally came up with my NYR!

I will need a drum roll please...…..

That's right! I want to run 1000 miles in 2014. Yes I am NUTS. But, by days end 1/12 I will have already 62.1 miles in! This should be a breeze….. I hope! But this isn't my only NYR for 2014 here are some other ones!

Being a better Blogger: I want to be myself but also like the women who inspired me to be a blogger. They have so much passion and love for what they do. I want that! This will def be a work in progress.

Design more: One thing a lot of people don't know is I LOVE design work. I love designing party invitations, cards, event programs. You name it I can do it. I have done some Christmas card work this past year for friends and family but here is our Christmas Card from this past year that I designed.

Be a better Puppy Mommy, Girlfriend, Sister and Daughter: My family means the world to me. So I want to be able to give them the time they deserve.

Learn more about photography: My mom bought me this Christmas a Canon Rebel SL1. I basically started crying when I opened it. I take a lot of pictures for my company for events etc. But I want to learn about lighting and the proper technique.

Of course NYR take time and practice, but fingers crossed these things can happen! Happy 2014! I will update you all in June on how all of this is going!

Until next time everyone!

What are some of your New Years Resolutions?

Did You Miss Me? Life/Training Update -- New Years Edition 2014!

Hi everyone! Man, I can't believe 2013 is over! And that I have been so MIA since Mid-October! First off let me apologize for my absence. Life happens and I am a firm believer that Family comes first. They took the front seat for a short time. But I am happy to be back up and running! So let me update you on some happenings in my life!

Life Updates:

I went more to the blonde side. And I like it!

I FINALLY got my 2013 Coast to Coast Shirt in the mail!

My little Stella had surgery and had to wear the 'Cone of Shame' for Halloween.... So we told people we dressed her up like a satellite dish.

Bentley now thinks he is the 'King of the House' and proceeds to sleep on top of pillows like he is royalty or something. #Spoiled.

I had Fire Training at work and learned to put out fires. I really felt like a bad ass after it all.
Chris got me some flowers and a card. Just because. I really thought he did something wrong.

And Stella became a toy hoarder. We are currently seeking treatment for her
hoarding tendencies now.

Training Update:

Joined a running/training group at Fit2Run. LOVE IT. And volunteered at the Ft. Myers Beach Half and Full Marathon! Best experience of my life.

I love donuts so much...But my coach said it is not part of my training plan. BOO

Since my SERIOUS training started back in October (about 11 weeks), I have logged 258 miles. Stella wants to start running too.

I FINALLY bought myself a Lululemon Scuba Zip Hoodie for WDW Marathon Weekend. Not to run in of course but to be cozy warm. Best part of this whole thing, I got it day after Christmas for $58.00

I also bought  some VIBRAMS! Aka my Tinger shoes. Love them.
I don't run in them but I love them.

I also made some Christmas Cookies that my coach said I couldn't have..... Evil.

Be on the look out for my blog updates that will occur every
Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday!

Until next time everyone!

I'm doing a Duathlon!

Happy Friday! Technically tomorrow is my Friday since I will be working an event at work until 10:00 PM tonight.... Tomorrow there will probably be no post seeing as I won't be home until 10:45 since I live a town over from my work. I'm exhausted thinking about it!

For the past couple months I've been toying with the idea of doing a Duathlon or a Tri. I purchased a bike about two and a half years ago. I rode pretty regularly, mostly every morning. Then I stopped. The last time I rode was on Thanksgiving of last year. We have a Thanksgiving race every year and you get a discount if you ride your bike. Gotta love discounts!

Anyway, I have been saying to Chris that I want to do a Duathlon. But my bike has been living at my parents house a half hour away. And last night my wonderful man borrowed his dad's truck and we dove to my parents and got my bike! YAY! I'm so excited!

For those of you who don't know what a Duathlon is, it is a race with two different activities. Biking and running. Once I start swimming again I will do a Tri, but for now lets stick with two things. They have a regular Duathlon and a Sprint Duathlon. And after much research I have decided to take part in the Christmas Sprint Duathlon by Elite Events on Sunday December 15!

10 mile bike (Courtesy of eliteevents.org)

3 mile run (Courtesy of eliteevents.org)
I am so over the moon about doing my first Duathlon. There is a little less then 2 months or 8 weeks until this event. I am so excited and can't wait to get out on the road!

I know this is not the Friday Fab 5 but this is way better!! Oh and don't forget to sign up for my Runners Wonderland Give away!! Check out the post and how to sign up here!

Until next time everyone!

QOTD: Have you ever done a Sprint Duathlon? Do you have any tips?
